Neuroblastoma Study Phase II Study of Various Therapies in Patients With Neuroblastoma

German Society for Pediatric Oncology and Hematology GPOH gGmbH·interventional·Posted Jan 27, 2003·Updated Aug 2, 2013

In Brief

A Phase 2 clinical trial evaluating filgrastim, carboplatin, and 14 other interventions for Neuroblastoma. Completed, across 94 sites in 3 countries.

Detailed Summary

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Peripheral stem cell transplantation may be able to replace immune cells that were destroyed by chemotherapy or radiation therapy used to kill tumor cells. Combining these therapies may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combining chemotherapy and radiation therapy with or without peripheral stem cell transplantation in treating patients who have neuroblastoma.
