Key inclusion· 8
- ✓Age 18–60 years
- ✓BMI >40 kg/m² and <55 kg/m², OR BMI >35–40 kg/m² with ≥1 obesity-related comorbidity (diabetes, hyperlipidemia, sleep apnea, hypertension, metabolic syndrome, or knee/hip osteoarthritis)
- ✓Five-year history of morbid obesity
- ✓At least 100 lbs overweight or 1.5× ideal body weight
Key exclusion· 18
- ✕Previous bariatric/restrictive surgery for obesity
- ✕Drug and/or alcohol abuse within 2 years of screening
- ✕Active mental health conditions: uncontrolled depression, suicidal attempts/ideation in past 2 years, schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, or active substance abuse
- ✕Active GI inflammatory disease (Crohn's, severe esophagitis, gastric/duodenal ulceration within 10 years)
