  • DSM-IV diagnosis of schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder
  • Age 18–60 years
  • Currently treated with one of: olanzapine, risperidone, quetiapine, ziprasidone, or aripiprazole
  • Cognitive impairment with RBANS total score ≤90 (one standard deviation below normal control mean)
Key exclusion· 6
  • History of organic brain disease
  • DSM-IV alcohol or substance abuse within the last month, or dependence within the last six months
  • Pregnant women or women taking oral contraceptives
  • Current treatment with galantamine or other acetylcholinesterase inhibitor (e.g. donepezil)
