  • Male or female, not pregnant or lactating
  • Common cold symptoms onset less than 24 hours prior
  • At least 2 of these 9 symptoms: cough, headache, hoarseness, muscle ache, nasal drainage, nasal congestion, scratch throat, sneezing, or malaise
Key exclusion· 8
  • History of asthma or other chronic diseases
  • Nasal ulcers within past 1 month, nasal surgery within past 6 months, nasal trauma within past 2 months, or nasal polyps/deformities causing significant obstruction
  • Positive rapid antigen test for streptococcal infection
  • Common cold symptoms for more than 24 hours
