  • Localized, organ-confined prostate cancer with radical prostatectomy completed and node-negative disease confirmed
  • High-risk disease defined as pre-RP PSA >15 ng/dL, Gleason >8, Stage T3, or positive surgical margins
  • Adequate bone marrow function: ANC >1500/mm³, hemoglobin >9.0 g/dL, platelets >100,000/mm³

  • Evidence of metastatic disease
  • Prior immunotherapy, biological therapy, hormonal therapy, or radiation therapy for prostate cancer
  • Active secondary malignancies (other than basal cell carcinoma of skin)
  • Serious, nonhealing wound, ulcer, or bone fracture
