- ✓Diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus with inadequate glycemic control on sulfonylurea monotherapy
- ✓On stable sulfonylurea dose ≥10 mg glyburide equivalent (or ≥5 mg if documented maximum tolerated dose) for ≥8 weeks
- ✓No other antidiabetic agents within 3 months prior to screening (exception: <7 days use allowed)
- ✓BMI ≥23 and ≤45 kg/m²
Key exclusion· 11
- ✕Urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio >1000 μg/mg at screening
- ✕History of cancer (except squamous/basal cell skin cancer) not in full remission ≥5 years
- ✕Laser treatment for proliferative diabetic retinopathy within 6 months
- ✕History of treated diabetic gastric paresis
