- ✓Diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus at least 6 months prior to screening
- ✓HbA1c between 7.0% and 9.5% at screening
- ✓Currently on metformin monotherapy at maximum tolerated dose ≥1000 mg/day for at least 2 months prior to dosing
- ✓Fasting plasma glucose <13.3 mmol/L (240 mg/dL) at screening
Key exclusion· 13
- ✕Requiring insulin therapy or using combination oral antidiabetic medications or monotherapy other than metformin within 3 months prior to screening
- ✕Renal impairment: calculated GFR <60 mL/min
- ✕Positive Hepatitis B surface antigen or Hepatitis C result within 3 months of screening
- ✕Serious concurrent illness (e.g., severe COPD, malignancy other than skin cancer within 5 years or with evidence of recurrence)
