  • ✓Physician-diagnosed stable asthma
  • ✓FEV1 between 50% and 90% of predicted, or less than 90% of known best
  • ✓Asthma control questionnaire (ACQ) score <1.5

  • ✕Pregnant or nursing
  • ✕Smoking history >10 pack-years or active smoking within past year
  • ✕Leukotriene-modifying drugs (zileuton, montelukast, zafirlukast), theophylline, oral steroids, or fatty acid supplements within preceding month
  • ✕Omalizumab within previous 3 months
