Key inclusion· 2
  • All procedures performed on a study day must have been performed at least 5 times per year in the hospital for each of the last three years.
  • Surgery cancellation after the first case does not disqualify the day; cancellations are managed by resetting the anticipated end time and recalculating precision metrics.
Key exclusion· 5
  • Days with only one or no cases scheduled.
  • Days when an emergency case is added as the first case or between scheduled cases.
  • Days falling during major holiday weeks (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year).
  • Days with unusual cases that do not meet the minimum requirement of 5 previous operations annually for three years.

Interventions

Scheduling using historical meansother

Scheduling will be performed taking into account historical means only for anesthetic, operative, and turn around time

Scheduling using regression modeling systemother

A regression model that uses predictor of operative length will be used to predict operative, anesthetic, and turn around time length
