  • Healthy, ambulatory children aged 1-2 years or young adults aged 18-30 years
  • Willing and able to complete informed consent and comply with follow-up (8 weeks for Group A, 4 weeks for Group B)
  • Acceptable medical history and vital signs

  • Prior seasonal influenza vaccination (Group A excludes any prior IIV; Group B excludes 2012-2013 IIV or LAIV)
  • Allergy to eggs or egg products, or vaccine components
  • Life-threatening reaction to any prior influenza vaccination
  • Active systemic or serious concurrent illness, including febrile illness on vaccination day
